Pittrice inglese, sorella di Charlotte e di Caroline Adams. Le tre sorelle sono figlie di George Adams, chirurgo e speziale di Billericay (Essex) e della moglie Anne. Lucy viene battezzata nel 1796 a Great Burstead, piccolo centro contiguo a Billericay.

Esegue ritratti, scene teatrali, principalmente acquerelli.

È presente alle esposizioni a Billericay e a Londra. In particolare, tra il 1815 e il 1843 espone nella capitale alla Royal Academy, alla Society of British Artists e alla New Watercolour Society. Dalle sue opere sono tratte incisioni.

Nel 1812 riceve una Medaglia alla Society of Artists per un disegno di soggetto storico. In questo momento è registrata con l’indirizzo di Billericay. È  ota come copista.

Il 3 dicembre 1814 tra gli studenti che disegnano dall’antico al British Museum è riportato il nome di una “Miss Adams, 26 Cecil St Strand” (raccomandata dal Rev. T. Maurice): secondo Martin Myrone (2017) è probabile che si tratti di Lucy Adams, che risulta essere attiva a partire dallo stesso periodo. Potrebbe ipoteticamente essere identificata con Lucy o con Charlotte anche la “Miss Adams” di Upper Charlotte-street, Fitzroy-Square che nel 1819 vince una medaglia d’argento per un dipinto a olio alla Society of Arts. Un’altra “Miss Adams” espone alla Society of British Artists nel 1828 e risulta attiva all’indirizzo 386 Oxford street. Esistono quindi diverse “Miss Adams” documentate come artiste a Londra nello stesso lasso di tempo e non è possible distinguerle con certezza.

Lucy Adams muore nel 1846, un anno dopo la morte del padre George.
