Pittrice e scrittrice inglese, nasce nel 1800 a Loddon, nel Norfolk.

A partire dal 1826 espone a Londra, alla British Institution e alla Royal Society of British Artists. Esegue numerosi ritratti in miniatura, spesso per spille. Esegue anche paesaggi e figure ad acquerello.

Risale al 1827 il suo primo matrimonio con il comcompositore Walter Turnbull.

Dopo la morte del primo marito, nel 1840, sposa il pittore di fiori

Valentine Bartholomew. Sotto il suo influsso anche Anne Charlotte diventa pittrice di fiori.

Tra il 1841 e il 1857 espone alla Royal Academy, dove si fa promotrice della richiesta di aprire i corsi alle donne. È membro fondatore della Society of Female Artists.

Oltre alla pittura si dedica alla scrittura, componendo lavori teatrali e poesie, tra cui: It’s only my Aunt (farsa), 1825; Songs of Azrael, 1840; The Ring, or the Farmer’s Daughter, 1845.

Muore a Londra nel 1862.
