From 10 to 12 March 2026, the MINEV European project Consortium Meeting took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, hosted by the Region of Central Macedonia. The meeting provided an important opportunity for project partners to exchange ideas, share achieved results, and explore experiences and best practices in sustainable large-scale event management.
The first day was dedicated to presenting and disseminating the project’s results across the participating regions. The Metropolitan City of Bologna presented its activities and outcomes, engaging with other European partners – including Malaga, Klaipeda, and Krakow – and contributing to a collective reflection on the project’s achievements and future prospects.
The program included several study visits, allowing participants to learn from local best practices. Highlights included attending the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, with a focus on sustainability in audiovisual productions, and visiting the Thermi Environmental Park, dedicated to waste management in large-scale events. The delegation also visited the Greek Eco Project, an initiative promoting the circular economy through creative recycling and innovation, as well as the Agrotica Expo, where partners could observe sustainable waste management solutions in practice at major events.
The Thessaloniki meeting confirmed the value of European cooperation in promoting more sustainable models for organizing large-scale events, strengthening knowledge exchange between regions, and contributing to the development of shared strategies.
