The Metropolitan City of Bologna, in collaboration with CIOFS, successfully concluded the training program “Repair Crew: Stitch, Repair, Restart” as part of the European project REPper.

The initiative, launched in December 2025, involved 119 participants including trainers, teachers, and citizens, transforming them into incubators of repair skills within their communities.

The 30-hour program offered both theoretical and practical sessions on:

  • Regenerative tailoring: mending and renewing damaged garments
  • Electronics repair: diagnosing and maintaining small household appliances
  • Bicycle and e-mobility maintenance: caring for bicycles and electric scooters
  • Dialogue and solutions: developing positive relationships with users and problem-solving skills

As highlighted by Alice Menegatti (MCBO), the high level of participation demonstrates the strong local interest in repair practices, green jobs, and the right to repair—key pillars for reducing waste and supporting the circular economy.
