Thematic: Smarter, Greener, Closer to citizens
Programme: Interreg Adrion
Lifetime: March 2020 – August 2022

Goal:

CREATURES aims at preserving cultural heritage through the promotion of sustainable and experiential tourism in the Adriatic-Ionian Region by fully exploiting the potential of Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), keeping a balance between innovation and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the territories involved. The project intends to generate positive changes on three levels: economic, by increasing the competitiveness of SMEs and Cultural and Creative Start-ups and the tourist flows, attracted by the new routes offered; cultural, through a greater valorisation of cultural heritage; strategic, through the improvement of policies in this sector and the promotion of a more integrated vision of Cultural and Creative Industries.

Main actions:

The project aims to implement actions and tools for competence development, decision support and evaluation of proposed solutions, in particular:

  • A Joint Acceleration Programme to increase the business capacities of SMEs and Cultural and Creative Start-ups in the field of sustainable tourism and heritage conservation;
  • Local Action Plans, Policy recommendations and Pilot Actions to provide policy makers with new tools to support CCIs;
  • The creation of an App and multimedia installations capable of attracting tourists to the new "CreaTourES" itineraries.

The project will increase the knowledge and capacities of the beneficiary countries through an integrated, participative and transnational approach, aimed at the full involvement of the Cultural and Creative Industries sector, at the cultural enhancement of the Adriatic-Ionian Region, and at the strengthening of a sustainable and quality tourist offer through an experiential approach.
