On March 31st and April 1st, in Lisbon, the Metropolitan City of Bologna participated in the Steering Committee of the Cool Noons project. This project focuses on sustainable tourism and is part of the European Interreg Euro-MED program.

On the first day, the importance of the project was highlighted, especially considering the current situation where climate change and heatwaves are causing significant changes in major Mediterranean cities. In the afternoon, the partners visited Estufa Fria, a greenhouse with three sections: a cold area and two wings with warm, humid and dry, climates. Afterwards, the partners visited the first "cool path" planned for Lisbon as part of the project: a green corridor connecting the city center with the Monsanto Forest Park. Along the way, the partners learned about the process of making the path greener.

On the second day, the progress of the project in the five pilot cities was presented. The technical partners discussed how to measure the project's success: it is essential to have objective information, like temperature and humidity, as well as information about how people feel about the temperature. Later, the communication plan for the paths developed in the pilot cities was presented. In the afternoon, there was a visit to the second "cool path" in Lisbon, the Alvalade neighborhood. Here, residents have taken the opportunity to use small spaces near their homes to create green areas within an urban environment.

The Metropolitan City of Bologna took part in sharing knowledge and experiences with the other partners. It continues to work on using what it learns from the European community to create solutions that are specifically suited to its local area.
