From October 17-19 , Marseille became the hub of sustainability and repair culture through the REPper Project Consortium meeting and the Repair Festival . During these three intense days, the event brought together project partners, local organizations and the public to discuss, plan and participate in hands-on activities related to repair and the circular economy.
Oct. 17: Consortium meeting
The event began with the REPper Consortium meeting, a gathering of project partners hosted by Avitem at coque numerique. During the day, project representatives shared progress updates, discussed budget details, and reviewed key deadlines and objectives. The day also provided an opportunity to review dissemination and operational plans for the months ahead, ensuring that all partners were aligned on their roles and expectations.
October 18-19: Repair Festival
Over the next two days, Marseille opened its doors to the public for two days of immersive events as part of the Repair Festival, held in two key locations: the Terrasses du Port shopping center and the Recyclerie Sportive.
At Terrasses du Port, both days featured lively booths and hands-on demonstrations of repair techniques. From furniture to household items, bicycles to clothing, attendees were able to observe and participate in demonstrations on how to extend the life of everyday objects. By bringing the festival to a crowded shopping mall, the event reached a wider audience, raising awareness among people who do not usually attend events focused on repair.
Meanwhile, at Recyclerie Sportive, partners participated in a guided tour that highlighted Recyclerie's mission and services and attended a repair seminar in the afternoon. Recyclerie Sportive also hosted two days of activities for locals and visitors, encouraging do-it-yourself repair methods and emphasizing the value of the circular economy.
