Walking itineraries for everyone: improving hospitality for hikers with visual impairments

As partner of the European project AMIGOS, with the support of the Fondazione per lo Sport Silvia Parente, the Metropolitan City of Bologna arranged the training workshop “Walking itineraries for everyone: how to improve hospitality and accommodation for hikers with visual impairments – knowing to understand”.

The two-day initiative will be an opportunity to explore the topic of accessible hiking and share useful tools to make trails and facilities increasingly inclusive.

The first day, scheduled for November 6, 2025, in Bologna (Sala Tassinari, Palazzo d’Accursio, with the possibility of remote participation), will feature expert contributions, first-hand experiences, and best practices to improve the hospitality of people with visual impairments in hiking contexts.

The second day, on November 8, will include a hike open to everyone in the surroundings of San Lazzaro di Savena — an informal moment to continue the exchange while walking together.
The workshop is aimed at operators and managers of walking routes, tourist offices, and organizations active in territorial promotion.
To participate in one or both days, you can register using the form available HERE .
The initiative contributes to building a more accessible and inclusive form of tourism, capable of welcoming every hiker.
