BELT- Boost Energy Label Take up

Social: LinkedIn
Thematic: Smarter, Greener
Programme: Horizon2020
Lifetime: September 2019 – February 2022

The aim of the BELT project is to accompany and support consumers in the transition phase of the European energy labelling of certain household products. The energy labelling system is designed to provide consumers with accurate, recognisable and comparable information on the energy consumption, performance and other essential characteristics of products, and allows consumers to immediately identify their energy efficiency. For some products, this classification will be revised, causing uncertainty and disorientation in the market.

Main actions:

BELT seeks to facilitate this transition phase through communication campaigns, workshops, events and training activities for the following specific objectives:

  • facilitate the transition from the previous labelling to the new one by minimising errors at all levels of the supply chain, from producer to consumer;
  • guide consumers towards more conscious choices in terms of products with better energy performance and lower environmental impact;
  • stimulate producers to research and further improve their products, thus stimulating innovation and investment.
